Terms of Service

Last updated: September 1, 2026
Before you rely on this: this is a solid, business-specific starting draft, not a substitute for review by a licensed attorney in your jurisdiction. Fill in the placeholders marked like this and have it reviewed before relying on it for real transactions.

1. Who we are and what this agreement covers

Caribbean Tech News ("we," "us," "our," "CTN") operates CaribbeanTechNews.com (the "Site"), a press release distribution service for Caribbean technology, business, and innovation news. CTN is operated by GridNet Group, registered in Jamaica.

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Site and our press release distribution service (the "Service"). By submitting a press release, making a payment, or otherwise using the Site, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.

2. The Service

CTN allows individuals and businesses ("you," "Submitter") to submit a press release for editorial review and, if accepted, publication on the Site's archive ("The Wire"). The Service is offered on a one-time, per-release basis for a flat fee currently set at $99 USD - there is no subscription and no recurring charge.

We aim to review and publish accepted releases within 48 hours of submission and payment, though this is a target, not a guaranteed deadline, and may vary during high-volume periods or for releases requiring additional review.

3. Editorial review and rejection

Every submission is reviewed by our editorial team against our published editorial guidelines before publication. We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to reject, edit for clarity or formatting, or decline to publish any submission that:

If we reject your submission, our Refund Policy (linked in the footer) applies. Editorial decisions are final.

4. Your content and the license you grant us

You retain ownership of the press release text, images, and other material you submit ("Submitted Content"). By submitting content, you grant CTN a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, display, publish, reproduce, and distribute that content on the Site and in connection with promoting the Service (including in our newsletter, social media, and archive), for as long as the release remains published.

You represent and warrant that you own or have the necessary rights to all Submitted Content, including any images, and that publishing it will not infringe any third party's rights or violate any law.

Published releases are intended to remain live permanently, consistent with what's described elsewhere on the Site - we don't commit to an expiry date or automatic takedown. If you need a release removed after publication, contact us and we'll consider the request at our discretion; removal isn't guaranteed and doesn't entitle you to a refund once published.

5. Payment

Payment is processed by a third-party payment provider. CTN does not collect or store your full card details - that information is handled entirely by our payment processor under its own terms and security practices. By submitting payment, you also agree to that processor's applicable terms.

All fees are in US dollars unless otherwise stated and are due in full before we begin editorial review.

6. Prohibited use

In addition to the content restrictions above, you agree not to: submit content on behalf of a business you're not authorized to represent; attempt to circumvent our editorial review process; use the Service to distribute spam, malware, or unlawful material; or interfere with the normal operation of the Site.

7. Intellectual property

The Site's design, branding, "Caribbean Tech News" name and logo, and all site content other than Submitted Content are owned by CTN or its licensors and may not be copied or used without permission.

8. Disclaimer of warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available." We don't guarantee that publication will result in any particular level of traffic, search ranking, business outcome, or media pickup. We make no warranties, express or implied, about the Service's fitness for a particular purpose or uninterrupted availability.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, CTN's total liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms or the Service is limited to the amount you paid us for the release giving rise to the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including lost business or lost profits.

10. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after an update means you accept the revised Terms. We'll update the "Last updated" date above when changes are made.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Jamaica, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles.
